Zuza Movement · ballet-inspired movement

Come back to yourself.

Short practices for strength, mobility and ease, with a little of ballet's grace in every one. You don't need dance training. You don't need to be flexible. You need a few minutes, a chair and a place to move.

Next round: 16–20 November 2026, five minutes a day, by email

Movement means freedom, not proof. Softness and strength share one body. Listen first. Then move. Pain is not the price of grace. Slow progress is progress you get to keep. You are allowed to evolve.

Why Zuza Movement

Every woman deserves a small doorway into grace.

I'm Zuza. I trained as a ballerina in Warsaw and danced for many years. Ballet gave me discipline, presence and a love of beautiful movement. It also taught me how easy it is to stop listening to your body.

Zuza Movement is what I practise now, and what I want to share with you: short, clear practices that build strength, mobility and control. Not to look a certain way. To feel at home in the body you already have.

  • Movement means freedom. You move to feel, not to be watched.
  • Discipline without cruelty. Challenge is welcome. Punishment is not.
  • Strength and softness together. Feminine and strong are partners, not opposites.

The practice

The same five parts, every time.

Every practice follows one shape, from five minutes to half an hour. You always know what comes next, so you can stop thinking and start feeling.

  1. 1–2 minArriveBreathe, stand tall, notice how your body feels today.
  2. 2–5 minMobiliseSpine, hips, ankles and shoulders, in comfortable ranges.
  3. 4–10 minStrengthenLegs, deep core, back and arms. Squats, calf raises, push-ups from the wall.
  4. 3–8 minFlowA short ballet-inspired phrase at your chair. This is where grace lives.
  5. 2–5 minRestLengthen within comfort, slow breath, a moment of stillness.

How we move

Three versions of everything
Easy, normal and harder. The easy version is shown first, and fully. Choose the one that suits your body today.
Strength before range
Range grows as control grows. No forcing, no bouncing, no stretching into pain.
Natural turnout only
Feet parallel or gently turned out from the hips. Classical forced turnout is not for beginners.
Progress you can feel
Hold a balance a little longer. Stand a little taller. Notice it for yourself. Nobody is grading you.

Five ballet words you'll hear

  • pliéplee-AYA soft bend of the knees.
  • relevéruh-luh-VAYRising onto the balls of your feet.
  • tendutahn-DOOSliding the foot along the floor until only the toes touch.
  • port de braspor duh BRAHThe carriage of the arms. Soft, long, unhurried.
  • arabesquea-ra-BESKOne leg reaching long behind you. Small is beautiful.

About Zuza

Once a ballerina, always a ballerina, and so much more.

Zuzanna Kidziak started ballet in Warsaw as a small girl and spent nine years at the Warsaw ballet school. She won a national ballet competition, earned her dancer's diploma at nineteen, and trained in the United States, at the Vaganova school in Russia, and on a scholarship course in Monaco.

On stage she danced modern pieces, acted, and performed in cabaret at Teatr Sabat in Warsaw. Today she is a model, photographed in Paris, Warsaw, Lyon, Málaga and beyond.

Her own practice has changed too. Stretching, yoga and breathing, and now strength and calisthenics. She is working towards push-ups and handstands, the movements her younger self avoided.

“Movement has always been my way of coming back to myself.”
